How to configure TCP/IP 1.x

Follow the steps below to configure TCP/IP 1.x and above. Before beginning, quit all applications and close all windows.

Requirements
  • You need the settings for your particular domain (i.e. earthlink.net, mindspring.com, etc.) which can be found on the Domain Listing page in order to complete this walkthrough.
How to configure TCP/IP 1.x
  1. From the Apple menu, click Control Panels, and choose TCP/IP.

  2. Click the arrow box on the Connect via pop-up list and choose PPP.
  3. Click the arrow box on the Configure pop-up list and choose Using PPP Server.
  4. Delete the contents of the Name server addr. field, and type one of your domain's DNS servers (ie. 216.240.32.64 for Mindsync).
  5. Press the Return key on your keyboard.
  6. In the field, type one of your domain's DNS servers (ie. 216.240.32.64 for Mindsync).
  7. Press the Return key on your keyboard.
  8. In the field, type one of your domain's DNS servers (ie. 216.240.32.64 for Mindsync).
  9. Delete the contents of the Search domains field, and type your domain (ie. earthlink.net for Mindsync).
  10. Close the TCP/IP window.

  11. Click the Save button.

    You have successfully configured TCP/IP 1.x and above.
