LINDA LANGE Live! I'm starting a 7 week series beginning March 8th at 6:30 PM (PST) for one hour. I'll be teaching on "Restoring your Life." Teachings I provide on the web and in conferences and now bringing these teachings into your own home! Simply call 1-712-580-7700 and type in the access code of 863228# and you are in a conference room with many others! (The cost is only your long distance charge to make this call to Iowa.) This is LAM's first conference call meeting so your participation will be a great encouragement and blessing to this ministry. I hope to visit with you then! Speaking Truth I discovered something that I think will help you as you share the truth with those you know and those you don't know. The reason we have problems when dealing with people we know is that we are wrapped up in them emotionally. I mean that perhaps we have been wounded by them and so when we try to talk with them we are talking out of our wounds. When we do that the other person "sees" it as an attack and will defend themselves. You have seen walls go up from people and they won't "receive" what you are saying. The reason is that we ARE attacking them, from their point of view. We may "think" we are trying to share something "in love" but we aren't. We are trying to say something to them through our own "junk." The reason it's easy to minister to people on-line that I don't know is that there isn't a history of relationship, offense or hurt. So when I share things with people, they receive it joyfully. They don't put up barriers or walls because they "know" that I love them and really care for them. There is no pain given from either side. So what do we do to get to the place we can share our hearts with those we know and love? 1) First
go to God with your heart issues about the person. Receive forgiveness
for your part in the situation. (Go through the "forgiveness"
teaching on the web site if you are not familiar on forgiving from the
heart.) Because if we don't forgive others from our heart, we won't
be able to speak out from the heart of God because our junk is still
in the way. PRAYER I want to address the area of prayer because many are confused about what to pray for, how to pray, why prayers don't seem to get answered, etc. So let's define prayer: It's having conversation with God through Jesus. Jesus said, "In that day you shall ask me nothing, but my Father, in my name." This is very clear that we are to pray to God, through the name of Jesus. Many pray to Jesus in the name of Jesus, and that really doesn't make sense. It's like going to your Boss and saying, "Hey, you said that I'm to ask you for a raise." That's silly.. Of course we can praise His name, tell Him we love Him, talk to Him, but when petitioning, we are to ask our Father, which art in Heaven. It's important to know who gives you your blessings. Jesus is the "way" to the blessings of God, but God is the one you need to ask things for. Now that we know who to ask, now what is it that we ask? The Bible says that God already knows what you have need of before you even ask. And I believe He's talking about "stuff" like food, etc., because it says that in Matthew. God clothes the flowers, He will also clothe you. The birds don't pray for a house or provision, God automatically gives is to them. Aren't we much more than birds? Of course we are. The Bible says that we have not because we ask not, and when we ask, we ask amiss. This means that when we ask God for something, our motives for asking may be self-serving. God knows the heart remember so you can't fool Him when you are asking for someone else to change. The fact is, you want them to change to make your life more comfortable. Anyway, that's been my experience. If this isn't you, then don't receive it, but if it is, it's time to allow God to clean out all wrong motives behind your requests. I had to do this and God has been purging me ever since!! The prayers that the Lord said He WILL answer is when we pray for, Wisdom and Understanding. "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men liberally and upbraideth not, but let him ask in faith, nothing wavering, for he that wavereth, is like a wave of the wind driven with the wind and tossed, let not that man think he shall receive anything of the Lord, for a double minded man is unstable in all his ways." (James 1). I always thought this scripture was talking about whatever I asked for if I believe I will get. But it's not, it's specific to WISDOM. Another passage is the Lords' prayer, I don't see us asking for "stuff" in that prayer. The part that says, "Give us this day our daily bread" is just agreeing that God is going to give that to us. But then it goes on with asking God to not allow us not to fall into temptation, etc. These are the things we are to pray about because they are issues of the heart. I found that when I pray for wisdom and understanding (issues of the heart), it affects my whole life. I'm making better decisions, my life is becoming more full, things are happening more around me in ministry, opportunities are opening up for more of the "things" of God, the blessings are chasing me I'm not chasing them, my needs are met and even more to give, and I have more peace and better health. So truthfully, I pray for more of God's love, wisdom and understanding every day. When I ask for "things" I am not certain I will get them, but I am certain I will get wisdom, understanding and more of His love. He's never held those things back. Now the only reason some may say, "I don't feel His love" isn't because God isn't giving it, it just means you are having a hard time believing it and receiving it. That is a whole different teaching, of which you can find on the website. I encourage you to put aside all your "wants and desire" prayers and begin asking God for what is vital for your life. He already knows you need clothes, a mate, a job, food, housing, vehicle, etc., so begin asking God for more of His love to flood your heart, Wisdom and Understanding. Because the bottom line folks, is that what we really want is to have peace. Don't you want more peace? We wont' get it when we get a new car, a job, or even a new house, that can cause more stress because now we have to pay for them. Peace only comes through the Love of God, Wisdom and Understanding. |
