Teaching Doctrine Overview
|
Two basic foundations for this ministry
The teaching provide by Life Application Ministries is patterned after
II Timothy 2:24-26: "The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will for the edifying of the body of Christ in the knowledge of Love, in the work of the ministry." We believe that by patiently teaching the Word, we will help individuals find the truth that sets them free and keeps them free from the snare of the devil. Many are in bondage today in their health, emotions, and spiritually because of their lack of truth, and the inability to believe. We teach knowledge of the love of God in relationship, coupled with forgiveness that will help individuals walk victoriously in whatever comes their way. "My people perish for lack of knowledge." Hosea 4:6 This ministry deals with the heart of man. If we have trials and tribulations that the world gives, this is not the same as a spiritually rooted issue. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all. We need to understand that in order to trust God in all things, we need to "know" Him in character and know Him in truth. We find that Christians don't have this solid foundation so that when a trial comes they struggle more than necessary. If we obtained peace in relationship with God, then we can go through anything, because we believe that God loves us and has our good in mind. We can go through a storm and not be shaken. We can face a trial that won't defeat us. We can do all things through Christ's strength. But in order to see the Biblical principles and promises in our lives, we need to get first things first. We are establishing or re-establishing the basic foundations for a
Christian. Yes, we are teaching the things that every believer should
already know, but unfortunately, do not. Once a person has obtained
the basics needed, then they have what they need to continue their lives
in victory with the Lord as He leads. Once we have passed through what
is taught here, we are ready to go out into the world, teaching and
baptizing them in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 22:38-40) Foundation Scriptures - We are to Love the Lord our God with all our Heart, Soul and Mind and others as ourselves. How do we do that? (Ephesians 3:17) Rooted and grounded in God's love. Important for every believer to feel they can go to the Lord at all times, not like Adam who hid and tried to hide his sin! (Hebrews 11:6) - without faith it is impossible to please Him for he that cometh to God must believe that he is." Many have problems with believing that He Is… (Matthew 6:33) "Seek First the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness . How do we seek it, and what is His Righteousness? If people don't understand who they are in Christ they will not live victoriously in Jesus. (Matthew 6:14-15) "Forgive and love one another from our heart, including ourselves. How do we forgive from our heart, especially those who we don't want to forgive. (Including addressing guilt and condemnation - vs. conviction and chastisement, accusations and blame, suspicion, fear, anger, etc.) - (I Peter 4:8) - Above all, love one another!! How do we love one another with UNCONDITIONAL love? (John 6:32) "Truth sets you free - Truth of what we see within our hearts and the truth of what the Bible says. To discern both. (Hebrews 5:14) (Hebrews 3:7-19) "Obtaining Peace - Peace is living in the "rest" of God (complete trust and faith in Him). Many Christians have no peace so we help individuals discover what is preventing them from this peace. Jesus left us his peace when he ascended into the heavens. "My peace (through the power of the Holy Spirit) I leave with you, not as the world gives...." (John 14:27) (Ephesians 4:11-16, I Peter 4:10, I Corinthians 12) We are all called to minister to one another according to the gifts God has given and also equip the saints for the work of the ministry. (Revelation 12:11) "We over come the enemy by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony." Mind-Body connection: What we think does matter to what is going on
in us and around us. (Proverbs 23:7) and (III John 1-5) We shall prosper
even as our soul prospers (mind, will, emotions). Clean that which is
inside so the outside will be clean. Taking every thought captive and
casting down every imagination that exalts itself over the knowledge
of God." (II Corin. 10:5)
