LIFE APPLICATION MINISTRIES

Happy 6th Year Anniversary LAM!

Yes, it’s been six whole years this month that Life Application Ministries started. We have been so blessed to be a part of so many lives – yours included!

I recall the day I sat down at my computer and began thinking of what to call this new found vision for ministry. I knew the name needed to include the different ministries that LAM would offer, so with careful consideration Life Application Ministries was chosen.

Since implementation I completed a book about my life called “A Matter of the Mind” where over 250 copies so far have been distributed. At the writing of this newsletter another 50 books are being printed. It has been thrilling to see so many people comment on how that book has caused them to seek a deeper walk with God, prompted them to read the bible more, or some have said, “I couldn’t finish it because I gave it to someone I knew needed it.”

During that time I also developed a workbook that is used during the seminars. One lady in particular has already received 5 copies, each copy she has used to help someone and as a result have given them away. Others have asked for me to come and teach the workbooks at bible studies, and others have offered to purchase them to use for their own teaching tools.

Another workbook offered is called, “How to be happy though married” for married couples. This is a fairly new workbook and is just now being offered. At one of the meetings a pastor friend of mine asked me, “How did you learn all this stuff?” In looking through the material he was amazed at the knowledge, thought, and truth that was there. I said, “Through experience, studying the word of God and leading of the Holy Spirit.” The information in that workbook was not taken from any other source – God truly put it together.

So far this ministry has helped families, single women and men, and children of all ethnicity, religion, and occupation. Pastors have been helped along with wives of pastors, laypersons, and others in ministry. The impact of LAM has reached from California, Alaska, to Texas, Florida and all the way to Scotland! There is no distance in the spirit and is evidenced by the many people that are helped on-line through the internet, mail, and over the phone. Many of these individuals I’ve never met and perhaps never will, but doesn’t prevent individuals from finding the help they need! There is no distance in the spirit.

We have held retreats in our home at Mt. Aukum, Ca. We are preparing to purchase another piece of property to expand the ministry for more retreats and overnight camping. Many of the meetings held at our home are for women – and will continue until the Lord prepares the expansion to include families. That will come, and we are excited about the vision to see it through. Today the ministry is housed in our Mt. Aukum home and will continue until the Lord chooses otherwise.

This ministry helps bring people the truth about who they are, what is keeping them from experiencing all the blessings God has for them, and how important it is to have a solid and firm foundational relationship with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. After ministry, people change. Sometimes it takes only 2 hours, some takes longer – depends on the issue at hand and how long it’s been there. But I love seeing God’s people (yes most of the individuals I work with are Christians who simply lost their zeal – if they ever had it in the first place) find revelation for their lives to the degree it changes them! See, this ministry believes that we cannot change ourselves, but the Word changes us! If we don’t have the Word inside of us, the Holy Spirit doesn’t have anything to work with. Let me go on to say that many people have been Christians for a long time yet they wonder why things aren’t happening in their lives like they think are supposed to. I can tell you why, I too had that same thought run through my head for over 20 years of my Christian Life. There is one thing and one thing only keeping the Word of God from penetrating into your spirit that it begins changing you into His image – and that is the “Sprit of Fear”.

Isaiah 35:5-6 says that, “Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompense: he will come and save you. Then the eyes of the blind shall be opened, and the ears of the deaf shall be unstopped. Then shall the lame man leap as an hart, and the tongue of the dumb sing, for in the wilderness shall waters break out, and streams in the desert.” And I turned this into a gingle that says, “Eyes cannot see, nor ears hear because of Fear”.

I had lots of head knowledge, I taught bible study for 10 years, I ministered through a worship band, helped individuals along the way, memorized chunks of scripture, yet wasn’t living that “cup that runneth over” state of being. I was still in the wilderness. When I was set free from the spirit of fear, I began seeing scriptures in a more clear way, they made sense, I got revelation from everything I read, it was easy to comprehend and absorb, the word began becoming a part of me that I actually began seeing myself change right before my eyes! The same knowledge and word I was learning now was the same I learned before, the only difference now was that the Spirit of Fear was no longer preventing the Word from penetrating into me!

So from this impact to my life I knew I had to share this with the world. Therefore, the direction for this ministry was formed. I have seen so many people set free from the Spirit of Fear to go on living a full and joyful life than they ever could have imagined! This ministry doesn’t do a lot of “deliverances” but help individuals recognize truth. Even though I do pray against spirits from time to time, the true way to stay free is to Stay in the Father’s Love. The bible says that “Perfect Love CASTS OUT FEAR, because fear has torment and anyone who is fearing is not made perfect in love.” (I John 4:18) So this simply tells me if I stay in the Love of God, fear leaves along with anything else that is not of “love”.

So many times people are out trying to “cast out demons” when all they need to do is receive the Father’s love! That’s how I keep the enemy from taking root in my life again, by simply standing in awe before God receiving his unconditional love for me. I had to share with as many people as would listen that the Word does work but it has to get inside them to do the work!

So now it’s 6 years later and things are really moving along. I have letters requesting the “Matter of the Mind” book, emails asking for help, and callers such as one I received yesterday that said, “It’s been a year since I met you, I believe I’m ready now for ministry.” See many people aren’t ready to hear the truth about themselves – and I don’t push it. People find me, I don’t go out looking for them. This ministry has been grounded and established by the move of God upon people’s lives. What freedom I have in knowing I don’t have to “try” to keep this ministry alive – because as long as there is a need to be filled, this ministry will continue. I believe some of you reading this article can testify to that! We met because of the leading of the Holy Spirit in your life. There have been individuals that were determined to make it to the meetings, and through every obstacle they had thrown at them, they arrived. These individuals received far more blessings than they expected because now they have some truth that will set them free – for life! Remember, it’s the Word that heals us, changes us, keeps us, not we ourselves! (Psalm 107:20)

As long as there is YOU this ministry will stay in existence. We don’t charge for any ministry time, don’t’ charge for materials at the meetings, and don’t charge for seminars. We do offer the books I spoke about earlier, but if individuals can’t pay for them, we still provide them. Any money donated is used to reproducing more books – there is no income generated. I have been healed freely, so freely we give!

Some individuals have opted to support this ministry through donations – and they have been blessed abundantly from the Lord for doing so. One person in particular gave some money to one of our events held in the winter months, I wrote to him thanking him for his donation and that I stand believing he will receive 100 fold return. Just a week later I got word back that said he received an unexpected check for $5000! God is faithful! And over and over I have seen him be financially faithful to this ministry as well. If people can’t pay for the books, we offer them free of charge. We are in the business of helping people and don’t want money to be a barrier in receiving healing!

We also offer many activities that help families with much needed food and clothing, and visit children that have lost parents and family members. We also hold an annual concert event, of which the 3rd one was just held on June 9th of this month. What a tremendous blessing that was!

So for now, please join us in wishing Life Application Ministries a Happy 6th Year Anniversary. We’ll see a 7th if the Lord tarries His return.

TOM’s TIDBITS

One night I was talking to my husband about the events of the day. In particular, a conversation I had with a lady whom I minister to. Many times when we would talk, she would ask so many questions, trying to reason everything out and know everything about everything. She’s always asking “Why?” I would share the truth with her from the Word of God, yet she would continue asking more questions. So as I shared this with Tom, he said, “People turn the answers into questions because they don’t like what the answer is. Then they turn their own questions into the answer.”

This is very true. When we don’t like the answer to our question, we look for another, then another, pretty soon we get all confused, and end up by asking God more questions. We start the cycle all over again, this time we are deeper and more confused. If we would simply take the first answer, whether we like it or not, and do what God instructs I believe we as believers would be farther along in our walk with the Lord. What do you think? But again, if you have fear it’ll be harder for you to hear God’s promptings as they come.

Personal Revelation
By Linda Lange

Tom’s tidbits started a chain reaction in my own life in discovering something very true – within me. (See, the first thing we need to realize is that God wants us to discover revelation – not about someone else, but about ourselves – that’s when we are truly set free.) I had already touched on it in my opening article regarding the spirit of fear, and I want to continue along those lines. I had noticed in my life that I never lived in a constant “peace of mind” state. I wasn’t stable in my actions and thoughts, I couldn’t make decisions very easily, I was stressed, fearful, no joy, heaviness in my heart, and felt like I was doing something wrong all the time. I was not enjoying my life as Jesus said He came to give.

Once I got past the Spirit of Fear thing I discovered two things that I believe will keep us from moving forward into the “promised land”. Let me stop here and share with you what I think the promised land is – it’s within each of us just as the wilderness is. The wilderness is dry, lifeless, full of moaning and complaining, unrest, strife, grumbling, questioning, doubt… well, you get the picture. But on the other hand, the promised land is, peace, contentment joy, love, kindness, righteousness (knowing who you are in Christ), and all the other things each of us desire. Notice that I didn’t say anything about stuff, position, or financial security? The Kingdom of God is within us (Luke 17:21). The Kingdom of God is “Righteousness, Peace and Joy, in the Holy Ghost, it’s NOT meat and drink.” (Romans 14:17)

I believe to live in the Kingdom is to have contentment and peace of mind continually. That no matter what comes our way, we stay in peace – nothing can upset us. We remain constant, we don’t get offended, or hurt feelings, or feelings of rejection or fear. I believe this is the “Promised land”. The bible says, “Enter into the rest of the Lord”, which is the Kingdom. The Bible says that “the Kingdom is within you”. His rest and Kingdom living is peace and joy within you. Once we have that, then the rest of what we desire or need will come. There are two things that can slow down this journey, and they are:

1) murmuring, complaining, grumbling, blaming, doubting and questioning.
2) disobedience

If you read about the Israelites, almost all of the original individuals who were delivered out of Pharaoh’s hand died in the wilderness. The bible says because of what I just stated above. Those who entered in to “His rest” believed God, and didn’t complain! They were thankful. They sang the victory songs on the wrong side of the river (Selah). This tells me that we can live in ‘His Rest” right now, not wait until our tombstone says, “Rest in Peace”. I’m sorry folks, but I want that rest and peace now, don’t you? Well, it’s available right now.

So how do we get to the point we “Enter into His rest?” When we get a revelation for ourselves about the Righteousness we have in Jesus – not our own righteousness, His righteousness; when we begin receiving the true unconditional love of God for ourselves, and when we begin to seek relationship with the Holy Spirit, then we are well on our way to entering “His Rest.”

I found that as I begun understanding the love of God and how He loves me unconditionally, and when I realized that I’ll never do everything right, but that I am made right by the righteousness of Jesus, when I begn paying attention to the Holy Spirit’s promptings, I began changing. The doubting and complaining, grumbling, faultfinding, blaming and questioning got less and less. What I discovered is that as I began diligently seeking the love of God, it was His Love that helped me to believe Him in ALL THINGS. I believed God alright, but not for ALL THINGS for me. I could believe for someone else, but for some reason I couldn’t believe for me. I now know it’s because I knew God loved them, but had a hard time believing He loved me. So, I had doubt and unbelief. Once we get to know the Father truly personally, everything you ever wanted to be will become a reality. We have to start there first. The bible says to “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and ALL THESE THINGS (the desires you have) will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). You won’t even have to go get the ‘stuff’ either, they will come after you!

Ask God right now to reveal to you what is keeping you out of “His Rest”. Yes, it’s that easy, all you have to do is ask. These are the kinds of questions He does love to hear, because He knows you are really looking for His answer.

Ask God to help you see the truth within you! Are you full of fear? If you fear you aren’t receiving His love. The bible says that “Perfect Love Casts Out Fear”. (I John 4:18). We all have a road to travel, we each have a different path to take with different circumstances and barriers, but the end result is the same. If you stay diligent and don’t fear the truth – the Lord will bring you in! So we need to stop trying to figure everything out, to come up with answers that “we like”. But simply face the truth about our heart condition and hear what God has to say and simply humble ourselves and obey.

Feature Article
By Linda Lange

I have a dear friend, and for confidentiality I’ll call her Sara. We have been friends for a very long time, almost 20 years now. Well, one day while I was on my way home from work, her husband called me on my cell phone. Now let me back up here and say her husband never calls me on my cell phone, I found out later that it took him 10 tries to get my number so I knew he was desperate. He wanted me to talk with him and Sara his wife as soon as possible that something very serious was happening in their marriage. Well, it didn’t take me long to turn my car around and rush over there.

We decided to all go to a local restaurant away from the house and children to talk about things. As we began talking, “stuff” started coming out. How they felt about each other, things they’ve never said to each other began coming out, what the other was expecting and not expecting, started being identified in their relationship. Just the simple truth. Well, it wasn’t that simple, got a little heated at times, but they said things to each other that that needed to be said.

Well, a couple hours later with a little more ministry and prayer at the home – they’re relationship was restored, peace was returning in the home, trust, respect and love was present again. They both rejoiced and verbally expressed their feelings that something was lifted and they had peace again. By the way, the next day happened to be their 18th Wedding anniversary and they enjoyed it up in Reno. I have to stop here and tell you what happened when they went to Reno. Their room, unbeknown to them, was upgraded to an exotic suite at the same rate of the regular room. Sara told me it took almost all night to believe they were in that room – she realized this was God’s way of loving them – and realized too that she had a hard time receiving this love. They realized that these blessings wouldn’t have “followed them” if they didn’t deal with the strife in their marriage the day before. Needless to say, they enjoyed their anniversary and came home blessed and refreshed!

The following week we had plans to meet again and have a family seminar meeting at their house. They had all kinds of family members invited – well to make a long story short – the only people that showed up was Sara, her husband and their teenage son. We talked of rescheduling the meeting when all of a sudden Sara’s husband began talking to their son. Let me tell you about theirs son. He is the most precious kind boy I have ever had the opportunity to know. He has the most gentle spirit with a pleasant and helpful nature. I’m known to him as Auntie Linda Lou – as I’ve known him since he was no higher than my knee. He felt free to talk in front of me too and so with that, I’ll continue.

The question brought to him was something like this, “Son, what do you think of how things are around here?” His response was quiet but full of truth, “I think I’m a slave around here – not really part of the family.” And from then on ministry began. Not knowing what God had in store for that day, thinking the meeting was not a success – we were proven wrong. This time together was so wonderful and by the end of that day, lives were restored, forgiveness was given and received, because the truth set them all free. They all received what I shared and accepted the “chastisement of the Lord” gladly. I’m here to report today that that boy and his father have been building a better relationship and Sara and her husband have been finding more peace and trust between them. Yes, they have their ups and downs, Yes, there will be times of trial and test and retest, but they have what they need to be free and receive all of what God has for them.

I pray that you are blessed by this story because the same message is taught no matter what the circumstance is – “You need to receive the Love of God for yourself so that you in turn can love others properly”. Again, it’s as simple as that.

The bible says in Matthew 23:38-40, “We are to love the Lord God with all our heart, soul and mind, and love your neighbor as ourself, upon these hang all the law and the prophets.” First things first, when we love the Lord with all that we are and also receive his love unconditionally for ourselves, everything else just seems to fall into place. We can forgive each other easier because when we walk in love, love overlooks offenses. Take a look at the gifts of the spirit – and see if you are walking in them. If you are not, then you aren’t receiving the Father’s Love for You.

Dead Dogs!

I wanted to take a minute here to conduct a little bible study on a scripture found in II Samuel 9:8. This is a story of King David who was looking for someone in Jonathan’s family to bless. He found out that Jonathan had a son whose name was Mephibosheth, living in Lodibar. So David called for him. When Mephibosheth came to David he fell before him and said, “What is thy servant that you should look upon such a dead dog as I am?”

I wonder how many people feel like this young man? He was crippled in both feet, living in a raunchy place, had nothing to give, yet the KING called him to dine at his table all the days of his life. I got a huge revelation for my life when I saw that I felt like I was under the table most of the time if near it at all. I realized this was because I didn’t feel worthy to sit at the table.

The day I got this revelation I was driving to work listening to Joyce Meyer on the radio (a lady minister who has taught me a lot). She was telling this story and as she got to the part when Mephibosheth called himself a dead dog, I began weeping. It was almost uncontrollable, and came from deep down within my guts. You know the kind? God showed me a vision of myself at the table. My eyes were lit up, I had a fork in one hand and a knife in the other, ready to eat what he had to serve. I was crying because I didn’t see myself under the table any longer but at the table.

I shared this with my husband right away and he asked me, “Were you sitting at the head of the table?” I thought for a minute and said, “No, I was about the 3rd from the end, but at least I was at the table.” He said, “Well, one day you’ll see yourself closer to the head.” I said, “Yes, one day, but not today.” I realized from this vision that I still have a long way to go in knowing my worth and value as a child of God. I had to and still have to understand that my value and worth isn’t in anything I have done, thought up or, will accomplish, but in WHO I AM. Jesus is the only righteous one.

I discovered that I have been growing in this area and will soon be sitting next to the King himself. Now for those of you who are a bit “religious”, I’m not saying I’ll be sitting in a high office or anything with God, all I’m saying is that in my own realm of who I am, I will become closer to Him as time goes on.

I wonder if any of you reading this can picture where you sit at the table? Take a minute right now and ponder on that. You will discover for yourself what you think your worth and value is. Are you eagerly awaiting what He has in store? Or are you stammering under the table for scraps? This is a truth we all need to see for ourselves so God can help us gain worth in value of who we are in Jesus Christ, and Jesus Christ alone.

INSIGHT ON DISEASE

Diseases that are incurable, etiology unknown (don’t know the origin), is most likely a spiritually rooted disease and no amount of diet change, drugs, operations, or even “laying on of hands” will heal that ailment. The antidote is “truth”.

This issue will focus on Diabetes.

This disease is of great controversy. I know many individuals who have developed “adult onset Diabetes” who swear it’s the food they’ve eaten or that they are overweight. It’s true these two things can irritate and cause more harm in the condition, but let me assure you these things are NOT the cause. Diabetes is developed over a period of time in someone who has self-hatred, self-rejection, coupled with guilt. This person doesn’t like themselves very much at all. And over the years of telling themselves they are “stupid, ugly, why did God waste the they are breathing, always mad at themselves for doing something wrong, can’t look at themselves in the mirror without making some rude remark of how bad they look, some can’t even look at themselves in the mirror at all! These individuals have thought so badly about themselves for so long, that their bodies finally gave in and began to agree.

5 R’S TO FREEDOM!

Recognize
I John 1:8, Isaiah 58:1, Romans 14:23, Psalm 119:50. We are to be willing to recognize our own sins and iniquities and shortcomings. This is the first step to healing mentally and physically.

Responsibility
Genesis 3, Psalm 51:1-12, Isaiah 57:15, Jeremiah 9:12-14. We are to take responsibility for our lives. From this day on, not to blame our past for what we have or who we are.

Repent
I John 1:9, Romans 6:23, Jeremiah 13:27, II Chronicles 7:14, Acts 2:37-38, Acts 3:19, Proverbs 28:13, Proverbs 24:5-9). Once we recognize and take responsibility, now we need to confess our “state” to God. We are to confess our sins and any hidden sins (iniquities) that God reveals. Then we are to receive forgiveness for them. This is the step that really starts a chain reaction for change in our lives.

Renounce
II Corinthians 4:2, John 10:10, Jeremiah 5:3, Romans 7:20, Mathew 8:16, Proverbs 28:16. Renounce means to develop a perfect hatred toward sin.

Resist
James 4:7-10, Matthew 8:32, I Corinthians 9:25-27, Philippians 2:12-13, Hebrews 11:1, John 15:7. We need to resist the enemy at his onset to stay free.

What I mean, is that the white corpuscles began having a “pity party” on the pancreas and began eating it. Since this person has been ‘eating at themselves’ all their lives, the body then begins doing the same. In the case of diabetes it’s the pancreas. This disease is an “autoimmune” disease where the immune system is compromised. As I spoke earlier in the May edition about allergies, the same roots exist in diabetes. I don’t’ exactly understand why some get Diabetes, others get Crohn's disease, others get, MS, or allergies, but the root is the same. And along with the self junk is guilt and fear! Fear will keep you sick longer than anything because you are fearing never getting well. Fearing having to eat only certain things, which is adding stress to your already stressful life. Is this hitting home with anyone? So what do you do? First of all, don’t change anything the doctor’s have been giving you – I am not a doctor and will not ask you to do that. I won’t even tell you to eat differently. But what I will ask you to do is be honest with yourself. Is what I shared something you, a person who may have one of the diseases I listed, have?

Then that’s the first step to your deliverance. I do want to share with you that I don’t know how God is going to heal you in your case, I cannot heal anyone, only God can. But I can guarantee your life will improve greatly for doing what I’m about to share.

Simply write down all the things you don’t’ like about yourself. Then write down next to those things what you are like today. In other words, are you angry, confused, overweight, depressed, out of control, unstable, bitter, jealous, etc. These are YOUR SINS that you have attained from your thoughts about yourself.

Now take THESE SINS to God and receive forgiveness. By faith you believe that God has cast these sins from you (1 John 1:9). Now you are free to forgive. Forgive WHO??? God. Yes God. You have secretly blamed Him for everything that has happened to you. You haven’t been able to receive His unconditional love because you think He’s been mad at you. But in reality, it’s you that have been mad at Him about your situation. You may have asked “WHY?” hundreds of times without any answers and you are doubting God. Then once you have forgiven God, forgive yourself. Begin to thank Him for His unconditional love and ask Him to do a creative miracle to restore your pancreas. From that point on, watch God work in your life.

I am not guaranteeing you will be healed as God still has the final say, but I can guarantee that your life will be changed. Your heart will be lighter, you will “feel” freer that you ever have. We make the gospel complicated. Paul even wrote, “I fear that you complicate the simplicity of the Gospel.” We are to be as little children. Little children don’t get complicated, they are black and white, yes or no. III John verse 4: “No greater joy than when my children walk in truth!”

SCRIPTURE OF THE MONTH

Jeremiah 5:25

“Your iniquities have turned away these things, and your sins have withholden good things from you.” We blame the Devil too much when most the time it’s our sin and iniquities keeping God’s hand from moving on our behalf. And truthfully, when it is the Devil attacking, God has allowed him to because this causes the impurities of our spirit to be revealed so God can purge us. When we come clean and confess those hidden things to God, GOOD things will begin to happen to you. Insight by Linda Lange
