If you receive the error: The connection to the server has failed . . . it may be because after installing Norton AntiVirus 2000, your email settings have changed. Resolve the error by changing the Outlook Express settings back to the correct Mindsync email configuration.

 Error Message   The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'Mindsync', Server: '127.0.0.1', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No,
 Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E 
 Cause   After installing Norton AntiVirus 2000, your email settings are changed. 
 Solution   Change the Outlook Express settings back to the correct Mindsync email configuration. 

How to restore the Outlook Express settings

1) Double-click the Outlook Express icon.



2) From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.



3) Click on the Mail tab.

4) Choose your Mindsync account from the Account list.

5) Click the Properties button.



6) Click on the Servers tab.

7) In the Incoming mail (POP3) field, type mail.Mindsync.com.

8) In the Outgoing mail (SMTP) field, type mail.Mindsync.com.

9) In the Account name field, type your username.

Note: Do not include the "ELN/" before your username.

10) In the Password field, type your password.

11) Click the OK button.



12) Click the Close button.

You have successfully changed the settings in Outlook Express back to the correct Mindsync email configuration. Try your connection again.
