Disconnects When Starting Outlook Express 5.x / Set Outlook Express 5.x to Not Dial a Connection

If you get disconnnected when you start Outlook Express 5, try changing the "Always connect to this account using" setting.

 Problem   Disconnects When Starting Outlook Express 5.x 
 Cause   Outlook Express 5.x is configured to dial a non-existant connection 
 Solution   Set Outlook Express 5.x to not dial a connection 

How to Set Outlook Express to Not Dial a Connection

1) Open Outlook Express.



2) Click the Cancel button.



3) From the Tools menu, choose Accounts.



4) Click on the Mail tab.

5) Select your mail account in the list.

6) Click the Properties button.



7) Click on the Connection tab.

8) Uncheck the box next to Always connect to this account using.

9) Click the OK button.



10) Click the Close button.



You will no longer be disconnected when starting Outlook Express 5.
