Troubleshooting Internet Explorer

If you are using Netscape, take a moment to download our customized version of Internet Explorer from our software section.

Windows 95 dialup connector [Back to top]

The best bet is to call the office. 916-473-1050. Since you are online in some fashion to see this page, it's not the modem, and may simply be a TCP/IP setting.

Email [Back to top]

We recommend using Internet Explorer's email. If you choose to use a third party program, check the links in Internet Applications for help on trouble shooting and configuration. Keeping in mind these items:
DNS= 216.204.32.64
POP3 and SMTP servers= mail.mindsync.com
Your email address= 'UserID'@mindsync.com
Your pop3 user name='UserID'
Your password

'UserID' should be filled in with YOUR primary login name.

Changing from another Internet Service Provider [Back to top]

Switching from another service provider, in some instances you can use your currently installed software. All you may need to do is change these items to reflect Mindsync information.

All of the following is on your account info. sheet.
DNS= 216.204.32.64
POP3 and SMTP servers= mail.mindsync.com
Dial up access number= xxx-0067
Your email address= 'UserID'@mindsync.com
Your pop3 user name='UserID'
Your password

'UserID' should be filled in with YOUR primary login name.

1 * Internet Explorer / Netscape- If using Windows95, you will have to make a new connection to Mindsync in the dial-up networking section (its in the "My Computer" icon on your desktop.) Now make sure your browser is defaulting to this new connection. With IE, it is as simple as right clicking on the icon and selecting 'properties' then 'connection' and then just setting the default for Mindsync.

* Eudora or Pegasusemail programs- Just go into the options, or setup portions of these applications and make sure your DNS, your POP3 & SMTP servers, your POP3 login and your password are changed.

* MIRC- you will have to change the 'local' information under the 'setup' options. First just try clearing out all fields in the 'local' info and connecting. If that doesn't work, type mindsync.com in the local host field.

The minimum to run our internet connector software:
* Windows 95 (98 Recommended)
* 486, 66mhz processor, with 8 megs of RAM
* 28.8 modem. For optimum performance, we suggest a 56k.

Macintosh

The minimum to run our internet connector software: *Operating System Version 7.1
*68030 processor
*8MB of RAM
* 14.4 modem. For optimum performance, we suggest a 28.8 or faster modem.
