Error 199: Filter Error When No Filters Are Setup in Outlook Express 4.x For Macintosh / Create A New Account

Error 199 may be caused by a corrupt account profile. Resolve the error by creating a new account in Outlook Express.

Cause

The current account profile is corrupt.
Solution

Create a new account in Outlook Express.
How to create a new account in Outlook Express
  1. Open Outlook Express.

  2. From the Edit menu, choose Preferences.

  3. Click the New Account button.

  4. In the Account name field, type in your name.
  5. Click the POP radio button in the Account type area.
  6. Click the OK button.

  7. In the Full name field, type in your full name.
  8. In the E-mail address field, type in your e-mail addess.

    Note: Your email address is your Mindsync username followed by @mindsync.com (example: username@mindsync.com).

  9. In the SMTP server field, type mail.mindsync.com.
  10. In the Account ID field, type in your username.

    Note: Outlook Exprss does not require you to put an ELN/ before the username.

  11. In the POP Server field, type mail.mindsync.com.
  12. Check the box next to Save password.
  13. In the Save password field, type in your password.
  14. Click the Make Default button.
  15. Click the OK button.

    You have now created a new account in Outlook Express. Error 199 is resolved.
